I am a firm believer that the government should not have a say in when we end some one's life no matter what they did. The person learns nothing about their actions. Its an easy way out. I wish they would have captured him and kept him in jail.
“I mourn the loss of thousands of precious lives, but I will not rejoice in the death of one, not even an enemy.” – Martin Luther King, JrThis is exactly how I feel and I wish other people in our nation would have the respect to feel that way too. We can't just go out and kill every bad guy out there. That is not the way to world peace.
You speak with conviction, Oksana! I love your passion in speaking your mind. What do the rest of you think about the killing of Osama Bin Laden?
ReplyDeleteI agree with Oksana on a lot of this. I'm not an advocater for killing people at all, I feel like it's not our place to decide who should live or die. I'm not advocating that he was a good person, but I can't make an exception on my beliefs.
ReplyDeleteNormally I would have to agree that deciding to kill someone as retribution for a crime was not right. In this case though it really was too dangerous to try and get him back to a secure facility. We had a window of opertunity and took it. I don't agree with celebrating his death. I am glad he is dead; but don't celebrate that.
